SCHOOLS
HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BUILD A STRONGER RELATIONSHIP WITH THEMSELVES, SO THEY CAN MOVE THROUGH LIFE WITH GREATER AWARENESS, COURAGE AND CURIOSITY.
Young people are navigating friendships, expectations, identity, performance, comparison, pressure and the constant question of “Am I doing enough?” "Is there something wrong with me?"
My work with schools creates space for students to pause, reflect and understand themselves a little better, because the relationship we have with ourselves shapes how we experience almost everything around us.
Through engaging, practical and age-appropriate workshops, students are invited to look beyond the surface and explore the thoughts, beliefs and perspectives that influence the way they show up in their lives.
These sessions aren't another lesson or a lecture. It is a conversation that helps them see their internal world from a new perspective and take things away that will continue rippling through their lives once they leave the room.
My school workshops are centred around four simple ideas that underpin all of my work:
THE LENS WE SEE THE WORLD THROUGH
Our perspective shapes our experience. Students explore how the way they interpret situations can influence what they notice, how they feel and what they do next.
WHAT WE FOCUS ON EXPANDS
Attention is powerful. What we repeatedly focus on can shape our thoughts, behaviours and experience. Students are encouraged to become more intentional about where they place their attention.
WE ARE MORE THAN THE RESULT
Our worth doesn't begin or end with an outcome. Whether it is a mark, a performance, selection, win, loss or someone else's opinion, one moment cannot define the whole person. Students explore identity beyond achievement and begin to recognise the many layers that make them who they are.
PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION
Growth doesn't require getting everything right. Students are encouraged to shift from “Am I good enough?” towards “What am I learning?”
Because progress, curiosity and reflection create far more room for growth than the pressure to be perfect.
WHAT STUDENTS WALK AWAY WITH
The workshop offers students multiple opportunities to see things from a different lens, and start becoming more curious about how they are showing up. Students are encouraged to:
develop greater self-awareness
recognise the relationship between thoughts, feelings and actions
understand how perspective influences experience
reflect on the expectations they place on themselves
separate identity from achievement and outcomes
recognise progress rather than only noticing what isn't "good enough"
develop greater ownership over the way they respond to challenges
consider what a healthier relationship with themselves could look like
leave with practical ideas they can take into everyday life
